2016 "Oculus" Viognier
TASTING NOTES: All of this harvest’s Viognier was fermented and aged in neutral American oak barrels and the Roussanne was fermented in stainless steel barrels. Winemaker Brian Grasso thinks this is the best white he has ever made. The nose is "all Viognier’". Look for melon in the form of cantaloupe, honey dew, pineapple and mango on the nose. There is a richness in the mouth that is very distinctive of a viscous Roussanne. Smooth on the palate with a brightness that will make this wine great on a hot summer day, but it will also stand up to Autumn with more hearty foods.
